Friday: Narsaq
Departure from Reykjavik city airport at 14:00 where you will take the two-hour flight to Narsarsuaq airport. At Narsarsuaq you will be welcomed by your guide and he will present the excursion program to you. Next you will be transferred from the airport to the pier and then by boat through Eric's Fjord to the beautiful village of Narsaq. Here you will check in at the hotel where you will be based for the following three nights enjoying various day excursions. The timing of each excursion will be given on site.

Hike - The Dyrnæs Peninsula and Kvanefjeld
Walk up along the Narsaq river to the geologically unique area around the Kvanfjeld (Kvane Mountain). Here you might find the rare gem stone called Tugtupit, only to be found in this area and in a small part of Siberia. The Arctic scenery is amazing and the view incredible. Packed lunch included. City Walk Narsaq
Walk through Narsaq where the guide will inform you about daily life in a traditional Greenlandic town. We will visit the newer part as well as the old kayak harbor, where local hunters still bring in seals. We will also peruse one of the local stores and the local market "Brædtet" where you will see how the old customs still exist alongside the modern way of life. Lunch and visit to the town’s charming cultural museum is included. Duration: 5 hours (approx.) Lunch included
By boat to the Inland Ice Cap
This tour takes you by boat across the ice-filled Bredefjord to a fjord system northwest of Narsaq that leads up to the impressive Twin Glaciers. By the Twin Glaciers we will take you up to a small rock that emerges from the glacier front. Here we will enjoy our packed lunch before continuing into another fjord offering a great view of the bird's cliffs and a huge waterfall. Duration: 6-7 hours (approx.) Lunch included
Monday: Nuuk; the Capital of Greenland
Today we will go by helicopter to Narsarsuaq where you will take another short flight to Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. Upon arrival in the Nuuk Airport you will be welcomed by a local guide who will take you to your hotel and on a city-tour.
Your guide will share insights into the city life of the world’s smallest capital. The tour takes in Nuussuaq, the modern surburb of Nuuk, the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources and Grandmothers' Traditional Turf Hut. We go to the Colonial Harbour and pass the “brættet” the outdoor local fish-market where the fishermen offer the catch of the day. We then drive further to the Atlantic Harbour, which is usually teeming with activity. The tour ends at Katuaq, the cultural centre just by your hotel.
Tuesday to Friday: Ilulissat; the Amazing Icefjord
We will transfer you from your hotel to the airport where you will take a flight to the charming village of Ilulissat. The village is beautifully situated at the mouth of a 56 km long ice fjord. The Ilulissat Icefjord is unique, producing 20 million tons of ice per day and was, in 2004, added to UNESCO´s World Heritage List. In Ilulissat your guide will welcome you and present the details of your excursion program. We will transfer you to your comfortable hotel where you will be based for three nights enjoying various day excursions all starting from the front door. The timing of each excursion will be given on site.
Midnight Cruise to the Ice Fjord
The midnight sun and the warm red colors reflecting in the gigantic icebergs is a fantastic sight. Cruise between the icebergs and enjoy a late Martini on "the real rocks"! The best season for midnight sun is approximately the 22 May-24 July. Outside this season the excursion is operated as an evening cruise with the beautiful sunset reflecting over the icebergs. Duration: 3 hours (approx.).
The Icebergs of Sermermiut
This tour takes you by bus as far as the road goes. You will enjoy a beautiful walk along the Ilulissat Ice Fjord to Sermermiut where traces from various Inuit cultures still can be seen. Sermermiut is a fertile valley next to the Ice Fjord; here you can enjoy the flowers as well as the fantastic icebergs. Duration: 3 hours (approx.)
City Walk of Ilulissat
The City Walk of Ilulissat is a guided tours around town where we will introduce the history and culture of Ilulissat. We visit the old part of town and see the busy fishing harbour, the old town church and its charming museum and many buildings that date back to the very start of the Danish trading station. The tour includes lunch. Duration: 4 hours (approx.)
Greenland Hunter's Settlement
On this tour we will visit a small, local settlement and gain some insight into the authentic life of local hunters. We travel by boat to a small settlement completely dependent upon fishing and hunting. This is truly a different world. Here you will have a guided walk through the village and enjoy a complimentary lunch. Duration: 6 hours (approx.)
Friday: Departure to Iceland
Take an early flight from Ilulissat via Nuuk to Keflavik Itn’ Airport. Departure from Nuuk at 12:00 and arrival in Iceland at 17:15 local time.
