Close to Geysir we will find the two-tiered, icebound Gullfoss waterfall, often called Icelandic tourism’s star attraction, which is especially majestic in the wintertime. You will then be taken to the south coast, where you may have an exquisite dinner (price for dinner not included) and stay overnight at Hotel Rangá, a luxury resort offering views to Mt. Hekla, the Mýrdalsjökull glacier and the Westman Islands on a clear day. The resort also offers geothermal hot tubs for their guests, where they can sit under the arctic sky and gaze at the Northern Lights when conditions are favourable.

From Skógar we will take you to the Mýrdalsjökull glacier, where you can enjoy an optional snowmobile ride. Experience the stunning black volcanic sand beach south of Vík and the Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar rock formations before heading back to Hotel Rangá in the late afternoon, stopping for cocoa and waffles at a farm on the way. For dinner you will be taken to Stokkseyri, where you can enjoy having a heavenly lobster feast in a local seaside restaurant (price not included). We will then go on a hunt for the Northern Lights before taking you back to the Hotel Rangá.
Day 4: Departure with a Twist
We will leave Hotel Rangá in the morning for a trip to the geologically active Lake Kleifarvatn and the moon-like Krýsuvík cove, where you can see hot springs and bubbling mud pots. You will then be taken to the last stop before departure, the Blue Lagoon spa, set in a magical black lava field. It is rich in silica and blue-green algae, which gives the lagoon its reputed healing powers. The lagoon provides a wonderful last memorable taste of Iceland, and ensures that you are fully unwound and relaxed when taken to Keflavik International airport in time for your check-in.
